Shredding Machinery Solutions (SMS), have introduced a Remanufacture & Repurpose Programme, which is a strategic initiative aimed at delivering cost-effective, high-quality, and sustainable shredding solutions to our customers. We have a number of used trucks that are going to be stripped down and rebuilt, however we can also carry out a renewal modernisation programme on shredding trucks from your existing fleet.

 

What This Means for You

We are committed to extending the lifecycle of mobile shredding equipment by repurposing and remanufacturing some components, ensuring that customers receive:

✔ Two year fully warrantied machinery, meeting the same quality and reliability standards as a new truck.
✔ Faster turnaround times by utilizing some existing core components
✔ Sustainability benefits, reducing waste and lowering the carbon footprint

 

Our Approach

The remanufacture process includes:
🔹 Chassis: A new chassis. Usually a DAF chassis but we will consider customer’s requests to build on other manufacturer’s chassis’ as well.

🔹 Body – A new body painted to a customer’s specification.

🔹 Shredding Blocks: A complete shredding chamber rebuild with new shafts, knives, side fingers, initial and final spacers, end walls, false walls, bearings, seals, pinion gears, and reducers. Only the side rails and shredder gearbox castings will be repurposed.
🔹 Hydraulic & Electrical Systems: Entirely new hydraulic and electrical components, including all new hydraulic hoses, fittings, motors, pumps, and sensors, ensuring peak efficiency and reliability.
🔹 Other components that can be repurposed: We assess each project individually and, where viable and as a customer option, can remanufacture or reuse items such as control panels, hydraulic oil tanks, feed hoppers, external tuck-under side lifts or tunnel lifts, internal walking floor slats (drive system and cylinder pack would always be replaced as new)  maintaining strict quality control to ensure performance is never compromised.
🔹 Full Operational Integrity Maintained: These upgrades ensure that the remanufactured units last as long as and perform at the same level as a brand-new machine while offering cost and environmental advantages.
